§ IV · FAQ
Is the fentanyl tariff on China still collected?
No. It stopped for goods entered from 12:00 a.m. ET on February 24, 2026 (CSMS 67834313).
Why did the heading change from 9903.01.20 to 9903.01.24?
CBP moved the duty to 9903.01.24 when the rate rose from 10% to 20% on March 4, 2025. Entries from February 4 through March 3 carried 9903.01.20; later entries carried 9903.01.24, which fell to 10% from November 10, 2025.
Did it stack on Section 301 exclusions and Section 232?
Yes. CBP said the 9903.01.20 / 9903.01.24 duty applied in addition to all other applicable duties, so a Section 301 product exclusion did not remove it, and Section 232 content still paid it.
Which shipments were excepted?
Donations and informational materials (9903.01.21 and 9903.01.22), personal goods in accompanied baggage, and goods loaded on a vessel before February 1, 2025 that were entered by March 7, 2025 (9903.01.23).
